New themes appear on the 'themes' page with a 'coming soon' designation in the 'action' column on the page. These competitions are not yet open for participation. Competition opening dates for these 'coming soon' competitions is indicated in the 'time left' column. Note: Time left indicates various time-related criteria for individual competitions. The meaning of time left varies according to the current phase of the competition it describes. (i.e. coming soon, vote, submit, or view winners). In this case time left indicates how many days and hours remain until the competition in question opens for submissions.

Once a competition theme opens for submissions it appears on the themes page with a 'submit' designation. Submissions are processed on a separate 'submit' page accessible by clicking on the active text link 'submit' in the action column next to a listed competition theme OR by clicking on the 'submit' button on the top edge of any main artractiondotcom page including 'home'.

There is currently a US $5.00 submission fee. This fee is subject to change.

Once the allotted 'seats' (in this case the maximum number of available submission slots) has been filled OR the deadline for submissions for a theme has been reached the submit phase terminates. No submissions will be accepted after the termination of the submit phase. Once all submissions have been accepted the particular competition theme enters 'vote' phase.

Competitions in the vote phase are designated by 'vote' in the action column. To cast votes on art submitted to artractiondotcom click on the active text link 'vote' in the action column next to the particular theme you wish to participate in OR click on the 'vote' button on the top edge of any main artractiondotcom page including 'home'. Voting on a given theme ends when the maximum number of 'seats' (in this case allotted number of votes) has been cast OR when the deadline is reached. The deadline can be seen under the column heading 'time left'. As already indicated above 'time left' can indicate various time-related criteria for individual competitions relative to phase (i.e. coming soon, vote, submit, or view winners).

One other designation for competition themes which appears in the 'action' column is 'view winners'. Prize winning entries of past competitions can be viewed on the 'thumbnails' page by clicking on the active text link 'view winners' in the action column OR by clicking on the 'thumbnails' button on the top edge of any main artractiondotcom page including 'home'. Winning entries are highlighted in the thumbnails view on the thumbnails page by an orange border. Additional information about winning entries (as well as any other entries that appear on the thumbnails page) can be viewed by clicking on the images themselves OR on the magnifying glass icon which appears next to the images.

*Recently ended competitions with a 'view winners' designation.
(Ended competitions remain on the themes page for one month and then expire to the artractiondotcom 'archives' section of the site. The competition themes which are about to expire appear closer to the top of the list.)
*Competitions in the vote phase with a 'vote' designation.
(Competitions which are open to voting participation that are about to expire appear closer to the top of the list)
*Competitions in the submit phase with a 'submit' designation.
(Competitions which are about to close to submissions appear closer to the top.)
*Coming Soon Competitions with a 'coming soon' designation.
(Competitions which are set to open for submissions soonest appear closer to the top.)
